There are many categories of Tourist visas that you can apply for, based on your specific requirements. Some of them are listed below:
- The Visitor Visa (subclass 600) under the Tourist Stream is the most popular visa for tourists. This visa allows you to visit family and friends, explore the country and stay for a duration of 3, 6 or 12 months.
- The Visitor Visa (subclass 600) under the Sponsored Family Stream allows you to visit family and stay up to 12 months in the country. You must be sponsored by a family member.
- The visitor Visa (subclass 651) allows you to visit as many times as you wish within a total duration of 12months, staying up to a maximum of 3 months during each visit. Processing time is very quick.
- A Transit Visa (subclass 771) is required when you are passing through the country enroute to another destination. You may stay no longer than 72 hours with this visa.
- Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) allows young people aged between 18 and 30 to have an extended holiday in Australia, and work while they travel to fund themselves.
- Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462) allows young people aged between 18 and 30 to have an extended holiday in Australia, and work while they travel to fund themselves.
- Business Visitor Stream (subclass 600) allows you to visit the country on business, and stay up to 3 months. You must be outside the country when you apply.
